Description
Révision I and Révision II (a.k.a. Moving Lines I & Moving Lines II) are paper weavings. Photographs taken during an artist residency in Tokyo of tree branches were inkjet printed onto two sheets of Japanese paper. The printed images were cut into strips and woven together.
Statement
Révision I and Révision II are continuations of my work in artist books and weaving examining the physical and conceptual links between paper and trees, text and textiles. Trees are a constant inspiration. I aspire to create weavings that draw comparisons between text, paper, tree branches and sky in ways that ask: are things coming together or falling apart?
