Description

La vanneuse is a sculpture of two cast-paper hands extending upwards out of the sides of a large grey bowl or boat-like shape. The hands hold a red, net-like object over the bowl. The work sits on the floor in the viewer’s space. The hands are cast from the artist’s hands.

Statement

When making La vanneuse, I was thinking of the Grimm Fairy Tale The Handless Maiden. The work was part of the my first exhibition of sculptures and my first important solo exhibition Du coin de l’œil.
