Statement
Yes_Non is one of a series of three images of hands holding texts (the others are Stay Go and Tout_Rien). The texts are all opposites, but the uniform visual treatment and, in this work, the string connecting the words suggests that these binary situations are not always easily divided along clean lines. It also refers to the Québec separation referendum in 1995.
Yes_Non fait partie d’une série de trois images de mains tenant des textes (les autres sont Tout_Rien et Stay-Go). Les textes sont tous opposés, mais le traitement visuel uniforme suggère que ces situations binaires ne sont pas toujours faciles à diviser selon des lignes nettes.
Il fait également référence au référendum de 1995 sur la séparation du Québec.
