Description
20-20 opens with close-up scenes of domestic boredom: someone doodling and stroking out items on a list, someone slowly scratching their head, fingers and a foot tapping nervously, rocks and water, an animation of a jumble of coloured yarn being pulled into a hole and pushed out again, an orange cone in a long line of traffic cones suddenly begins to move running towards the camera and the last vignette is a close-up view of the artist’s face with several pairs of glasses, she removes one after the other until we see her eyes. Her eyes close and on each lid, the number 20 is written on a small piece of paper.
Statement
With humour, 20-20 presents five short vignettes inspired by life during the pandemic in Montreal. Each vignette was originally created as 19 second-long contributions to a COVID project, initiated by 2gather Apart a group of Montreal artists during COVID.
