Description

Détails à broder presents a photo litho printed in blue-grey ink on organza, which is stretched in a large embroidery hoop supported by a tripod of wooden legs. The image is of two hands mirrored. The source image is a photograph of the artist’s hands in a natural rock basin filled with water on Mingan Island, on the north shore of the St-Lawrence River in Québec.


Statement

The work was made in response to the theme of the exhibition Lange linceul – the shroud and its connection to the body and life cycles.
