Description
Speed of Light is a short single-channel video. It begins in darkness with a tiny ray of sunlight to the left of the screen. Over the period of eight minutes, the circle of sunlight moves into what becomes recognizable as an open hand. The light continues to move and grow slipping off outstretched fingers to end the video. The sound of a clock ticks in the background. The video work is a real-time filming as the sun rises, of an early-morning ray of sunlight coming into the house through a small hole in the curtain and falling onto the artist’s hand.

Speed of Light est une courte vidéo à canal unique. Il commence dans l’obscurité avec un petit rayon de soleil à gauche de l’écran. Pendant huit minutes, le cercle de lumière solaire se transforme en ce qui devient reconnaissable comme une main ouverte. La lumière continue de bouger et de grandir en glissant des doigts tendus pour terminer la vidéo. Le bruit d’une horloge se fait entendre en arrière-plan. Speed of Light est un film en temps réel, au moment où le soleil se lève, d’un rayon de soleil matinal entrant dans la maison par un petit trou dans le rideau et tombant sur ma main.
